︎Midnight Sunlight is a futuristic city of the past run by central authority called Midnight Sunlight Consulate (abbreviated to The Consulate). Its streets are lined with towering buildings clad from top to bottom in neon signs which light the permanently shadowed streets below. The city owes its name to these neon lights which act as artificial sun for the streets.The citizens of this city live in different levels of the city. The very wealthy live atop of the skyscrapers and the poor, mind sick and disaffected live at the street level. Midnight Sunlight is a neither a dystopia or a paradise. It simply is. It exists in a state of permanent instability trying to keep balance at all costs. Sometimes Midnight Sunlight succeeds at this and sometimes it miserably fails.
︎At the street level, four different illegal groups race everyday in their modified vintage cars. These groups are more commonly known as the Sekts. Each Sekt has a differentmotivation to race, a reason that’s unique to them. But they all have one thing in common, the drive to race. Its an urge, a need, a necessity. The members of these groups live and die by their faction and their incessant craving for racing.
Midnight Sunlight Consulate tries as much as it can to keep these races in check. The authority is desperate to stop these races and eliminate the members of the Sekts. Every night there is an ongoing battle between the racers and The Consulate. Some nights, the Consulate manages to stop or hamper the races. To that end MSC, is willing to use any means necessary. This involves blocking the streets, spiking the roads with nails and glass and sometimes outright killing its members. But the outcomes are never certain. For every successful race shutdown another one pops up in another part of the city. And with every shutdown The Consulate exhausts a little more of its ressources giving the Skets even more opportunities to make the streets of Midnight Sunlight dangerous for its inhabitants.

︎Midnight Sunlight est une ville futuriste du passé dirigée par une autorité centrale appelée Midnight Sunlight Consulate (abrégé en The Consulate). Ses rues sont bordées d’immeubles géants recouverts de haut en bas d'enseignes au néon qui éclairent les rues ombragées en permanence. La ville doit son nom à ces néons qui sont comme un soleil artificiel pour les rues.
Les habitants de la ville vivent à différents niveaux. Les très riches vivent au sommet des gratte-ciel, tandis que les pauvres, les malades mentaux et les marginaux vivent dans la rue. MS n'est ni une dystopie ni un paradis. Elle est tout simplement. Elle existe dans un état d'instabilité permanente, essayant de maintenir l'équilibre à tout prix. Parfois, Midnight Sunlight y parvient, parfois il échoue lamentablement.
︎Dans la rue, quatre groupes illégaux différents font la course tous les jours dans leurs voitures anciennes modifiées. Ces groupes sont plus communément appelés les Sekts. Chaque Sekt a une motivation différente pour faire la course, une raison qui lui est propre. Mais ils ont tous une chose en commun, la volonté de courir. C'est une envie, un besoin, une nécessité. Les membres de ces groupes vivent et meurent de leur faction et de leur envie incessante de courir.
